Dr. Kyle J. Kramer Introduced as the New Editor of Anesthesia Progress
Anesthesia Progress – The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology is excited to introduce Dr. Kyle J. Kramer as the new Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesia Progress. Dr. Kramer comes to the position with nine years of professional experience as an Associate Clinical Professor at Indiana University School of Dentistry in addition to managing his own private practice as a mobile dental anesthesiologist. He has extensive knowledge of Anesthesia Progress and is a long-time reader and peer reviewer.
Throughout Dr. Kramer’s career, the American Dental Society of Anesthesia and Anesthesia Progress have been integral to his education and professional development.
“The previous editors of Anesthesia Progress, Drs. Joel Weaver and Steven Ganzberg, are close mentors and were attending faculty during my time at OSU; they along with other faculty introduced ADSA and Allen Press to me at that time,” states Dr. Kramer. “The importance of Anesthesia Progress, as the journal dedicated to the field of Dental Anesthesiology, was really reinforced along with the need to be perpetually reading and remain current with scientific advances.”
As the new Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesia Progress, Dr. Kramer sees big advances on the horizon for the journal. His plans include continuing to streamline the peer review process for authors, expanding the journal’s reach by partnering with other societies that claim Anesthesia Progress as their official journal, and focusing on the creation of more digital content utilizing Facebook and Twitter. The editor also revealed that a new section of Anesthesia Progress with a historical perspective will be unveiled later this year.
“As Editor-in-Chief, I am most looking forward to seeing what changes and advancements I can make to improve the reach of Anesthesia Progress,” Dr. Kramer stated in a recent interview. “It’s my opinion that journals such as Anesthesia Progress need to be responsive to changes in how readers consume material. Times are changing, and the journal must be able to adapt to remain current and relevant for our readership.”
