In the article “Comparison of Voice-Automated Transcription and Human Transcription in Generating Pathology Reports” by Maamoun M. Al-Aynati, MD, and Katherine A. Chorneyko, MD, that appeared in the June issue of the Archives (Arch Pathol Lab Med. 2003;127:721–725), the key for the figure incorrectly designated the colored bars shown in the figure. Human transcription, which had a mean accuracy rate of 99.6% (range, 99.4%–99.8%), should have been represented by the blue colored bars in the figure, while computer-based transcription (mean accuracy rate of 93.6% and a range of 87.4%–96%) should have been represented by the mauve colored bars. The accompanying revised figure correctly identifies the percentage accuracy rates for human transcription and computer-based transcription.
