An article in the July 2022 issue (Gibson BA, McKinnon E, Bentley RC, et al. Communicating Certainty in Pathology Reports: Interpretation Differences Among Staff Pathologists, Clinicians, and Residents in a Multicenter Study. Arch Pathol Lab Med. 2022;146(7):886–893; doi:10.5858/arpa.2020-0761-OA) contained incorrect information in the Results sections of the abstract and text, as well as the legends for 5 figures. The third and fourth sentences of the Results section of the abstract should have said, “Twenty-five of 53 staff clinicians (47%) were very comfortable reading a pathology report, whereas only 4 of 53 resident clinicians (8%) were very comfortable reading a pathology report. Thirty-four of 53 staff clinicians (64%) reported always reading the comment, yet only 10 of 53 (19%) always found the comment helpful.”

In the second paragraph of the Results section shown on page 889, the fifth sentence should have said, “In terms of using the comment portion of a report, 34 of 53 staff clinicians (64%) always read the comment, with 10 of 53 (19%) finding the comment always helpful (Figure 9).”

The first sentence of the legend for Figure 8 should have said, “Staff and resident pathologists—comfort writing report.” The first sentence of the legend for Figure 9 should have said, “Staff clinicians—frequency use comment.” The first sentence of the legend for Figure 10 should have said, “Nonstaff clinicians—frequency use comment.” The first sentence of the legend for Figure 11 should have said, “Staff pathologists—comment ability to clarify diagnosis.” The first sentence of the legend for Figure 12 should have said, “Resident pathologists—comment ability to clarify diagnosis.”
