Journal Policy

ATEJ Mission Statement

The mission of the Athletic Training Education Journal is to publish high-quality scholarly works that will address and advance the continuum of teaching and learning from educational preparation to professional development and continuing education. The goal of the journal is to provide significant contributions to the health care professions by focusing on teaching and learning for the educator, preceptor, and program administrator.

The vision of the Athletic Training Educational Journal is to serve as a leader in the development and dissemination of scholarly work that has an influence on our readership. The journal will provide best practice strategies for educators, preceptors, and program administrators regarding pedagogy and instruction curriculum development, and professional development.

The Athletic Training Education Journal is an open access, peer-reviewed journal. Consistent with the Budapest open access initiative (BOAI), all articles are free for users to access, read, download, and print. Information can be used providing that the source is appropriately acknowledged and/or referenced. An institution may post an author's manuscript in a digital repository. Any other posting on servers or replication of any content can be done only after obtaining permission from the NATA's Scientific Publications office - Managing Editor, Leslie E. Neistadt, ELS, [email protected].

Announcements

The ATEJ has launched its online submission and reviewer site at http://atej.msubmit.net. Please submit all manuscripts here. We will no longer be accepting manuscripts through email unless it has been arranged through the editorial office.

The Author's Guide has been updated to reflect the changes in the submission process. Please take note of the manuscript formatting guidelines, making sure to eliminate identifying information within the manuscript (i.e. title pages and acknowledgements). These can still be submitted, but must be separate documents.
