Research communication has changed rapidly over the last decade creating new opportunities for researchers in all disciplines to communicate their research directly to an engaged audience. The communication of research now needs to be seen as a continuous process and an integral part of the research. It is now possible to set up a network of social media platforms that communicates research to a bespoke audience that may create real impact for that research. Here I look at opportunities for researchers to communicate their research to various audiences using social media.
