George Zug and Daniel Mulcahy of the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution have conducted research on the herpetofauna of Myanmar for ca. 20 and six years, respectively. Over the last five years, they have published a number of papers on the amphibians and reptiles of the Tanintharyi region of southern Myanmar (Lee et al., 2015, 2018a, 2019; Connette et al,. 2017; Mulcahy et al., 2017, 2018; Zug et al., 2017).
