My research initially focused on the natural history of Sri Lankan snakes and snakebites. I then moved to study the life history, ecology, and conservation of other taxa including crocodiles, turtles, and amphibians. Additionally, I became interested in and started researching the archaeological and historical aspects of reptiles and amphibians and traditional snakebite management. Recently, I have been collaborating with other international and local researchers on the systematics and life history of Sri Lankan reptiles and amphibians.
