THE Robert K. Johnson Award for Excellence in Service honors the memory of former ASIH Secretary and Copeia (now Ichthyology & Herpetology) Editor Robert Karl Johnson, whose long service and lasting contributions to the Society included production of the first guide to ASIH policies and procedures. The Johnson Award recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the Society through their service to the organization and is awarded in alternate years to either an ichthyologist or herpetologist. As the Society solely runs on the efforts of those who volunteer their time, this award celebrates those that have gone above and beyond in helping the Society operate.
