Abstract
Comparisons of microstructure of a bronze spike taken from a wrecked ship at Nags Point, N. C. with that of spikes from the frigate Constitution and nails taken from Boston's Old South Church roof fastening copper sheets dated 1838 establishes the age of the craft as the last half of the eighteenth or first half of the nineteenth century.
