Abstract
A report is given of research and development leading to the selection of 70–30 cupro nickel tubes and tube sheets and 70–30 cupro nickel lined waterboxes for 95,000 sq ft surface condensers in a steam plant. Topics discussed include design considerations, use of protective coatings, elimination of galvanic couples, resistance of metals to sea water, and economic factors.
