The mini potentiostat, a compact, low cost instrument based on a single microcircuit operational amplifier, offers a versatile power source for most electrochemical experiments. By appropriate connections, it can be used as a galvanostat, zero resistance ammeter, and a constant voltage/current power supply in addition to its potentiostat function. The characteristics of both a-c and battery operated mini potentiostat circuits are described.
