Abstract
Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of mild steel is assessed in ammonium carbonate test solution at 70 C and the potential range measured within which minimum time to failure occurs. The effects of cold rolling and of alloyed carbon, silicon, nickel, chromium, and molybdenum are included. Results are compared with similar data previously reported in a nitrate test solution.
