Dr. John R. Scully, FNACE, officially becomes technical editor of Corrosion January 1, 2012, following a unanimous vote by the NACE International Publications Committee. Dr. Scully's name will be added to a short but distinguished list of Corrosion technical editors, following Ivy Parker, Mars Fontana, Roger Staehle, and Jesse Lumsden.

Dr. John Scully holds a PhD in materials science and engineering from the Johns Hopkins University, where he also earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees of materials science and engineering. He is currently the Charles Henderson Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and the Co-Director of the Center for Electrochemical Science and Engineering at the University of Virginia. Dr. Scully is active in NACE activities such as Topical Research Symposium and the Technical and Research Activities Committee. He also participates in The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS), the Electrochemical Society (ECS), and ASTM International.
