Charlotte Waterlow, a former British civil servant and teacher, describes a course on "Global Problems" which she taught as a twelfth-grade elective at an independent school in Cambridge,Massachusetts. The course drew inspiration from the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 and from the belief that solutions to global problems are emerging.
