The Herpetologists' League is excited to congratulate Henry R. Mushinsky as the 2020 recipient of the Award for Distinguished Service to Herpetology.

Henry earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from Tusculum University in Tennessee, followed by his master's degree in Biology from East Tennessee State University, and finally his PhD in Zoology from Clemson University. He was an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge for several years before he moved to Department of Integrative Biology at the University of South Florida, where he has remained for the rest of his career and is now emeritus. Henry is renowned as a conservation biologist specializing in amphibians and reptiles of Florida, on which he has given hundreds of conference presentations and authored over 100 scholarly articles.
