The Meritorious Teaching Award in Herpetology is sponsored by the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists, The Herpetologists’ League, and the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles. This award recognizes superior teaching and mentoring of students in herpetology. Awardees are active teachers and mentors, with classroom teaching within the last 3 yr and a substantial history of teaching excellence. Awardees have a reputation among their peers and students for excellence in herpetological education.

The award committee, which included Nancy Karraker, Alison Davis Rabosky, and Brian Todd, considered several excellent nominees. This year, the recipient of the Meritorious Teaching Award in Herpetology is Dr. Jennifer Moore, an Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University (GVSU).
