The Herpetologists’ League congratulates all of the individuals who were evaluated as part of the Graduate Research Award. The winner of the 2024 competition is as follows:

Winner.— Julia Joos, Ohio University, “Thermal Ecology, Activity Patterns, and Ecological Niche Modeling of Gopherus Tortoises.”

In 2015, HL initiated an award for early-career herpetologists in support of their research targeting the ecology, evolution, and conservation of amphibians and reptiles. Particular emphasis is placed on the hallmarks of Ray Semlitsch’s career—questions that bridge disciplines, and that incorporate manipulative and experimental approaches.

Winner.—The Herpetologists’ League is pleased to announce that the recipient of the award is Dr. Alycia C. R. Lackey, University of Louisville, for a proposal entitled, “Consequences of Pond Temperature Variation for Organismal, Population, and Community Responses for Salamanders and their Prey.”

This award is named in honor of Joseph C. Mitchell, past President and Secretary of the Herpetologist’s League....
