Ward H. Goodenough is professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as president of the Society for Applied Anthropology in 1963 and editor of the American Anthropologist from 1966-1970. Dr. Goodenough is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a recipient of the American Anthropological Association's Distinguished Service Award.
