The International Journal of MS Care (IJMSC) (ISSN: 1537-2073; e-ISSN: 2834-5398) is the official peer-reviewed publication of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC). It was also adopted as the official publication of 2 sister organizations: the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN) and the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation Therapists (IOMSRT). Established in 1998 as a quarterly publication, IJMSC is now published 6 times annually—bimonthly in January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, and November/December, not including supplements—by MJH Life Sciences®.
IJMSC is an international publication focused on multiple sclerosis (MS) and related autoimmune disorders of the central nervous system. The primary goal of IJMSC is to publish original articles covering various clinical aspects of MS, particularly those relevant to the multidisciplinary management of the disease and its consequences. Topics include neurologic, nursing, rehabilitative, psychological, and psychosocial care and quality of life issues of people with MS and reflect the diversity of the Journal's readership. Categories of manuscripts considered include original research, clinically relevant reviews of the literature, short reports, case reports, consensus statements, controversies, book reviews, and letters to the editor. The mission of the Journal is to promote multidisciplinary cooperation and communication among the global network of MS health care professionals, with the goal of maximizing the quality of life of people affected by MS.
With submissions on the rise every year, IJMSC displays its global reach with more than 50% of the papers submitted in 2020 coming from countries outside North America. IJMSC has an efficient peer-review process, with at least 2 reviewers assigned to each manuscript using the single-blind model. Including “desk rejections,” average time from submission to first decision is 36 days.
