As my term as President of APMA draws to a close, it is only natural to reflect on the past year. Anyone who has read or heard my thoughts during the past year surely knows that I have been singularly focused on parity for us as podiatric physicians. In the past year, the APMA Board, our state components, our affiliates, and our grassroots have transitioned from planning to implementation of the Vision 2015 plan. This transition has caused me to make several observations.

I am in awe of my profession for their adoption of this plan. Everywhere that I have traveled, Vision 2015 has been the number one topic of conversation. I have not met a single podiatrist who is familiar with the plan and has not adopted the concept: namely, that DPMs will be universally recognized as physicians within our education, training, and experience by the year 2015.
