By the time you read this, I will be closing the book on my first year with the Association for Vascular Access (AVA).

AVA elected to put its faith in an individual with a journalism background instead of someone who works daily on the front lines of the medical side of vascular access. My knowledge in the latter has grown astronomically over the past 12 months, and although I should not be considered an expert, I feel more comfortable than I ever have in discussing the topic with friends, family, colleagues, and potential authors for the Journal of the Association of Vascular Access (JAVA).
