Consider this a formal invitation to all reading this column: you—yes, you—are fully capable of being an author in the Journal of the Association for Vascular Access.

As I head toward the final quarter of 2018 and my first full year in this role, I am both encouraged by the direction of our journal and anxious to meet aspiring authors at AVA's upcoming Scientific Meeting in Columbus, Ohio. While Sheila Hale, MSN, RN, CRNI®, VA-BC™ and I eagerly look forward to our presentation on AVA, social media, vascular access and how they intersect, my hope is that I head home with a notebook full of contacts and content ideas from possible authors.
