In May, I had the privilege of attending the 2019 Council of Science Editors meeting in Columbus, Ohio. Not only was it right in my backyard, the connections I made with other editors of scientific journals was just as invigorating as it was rewarding.

One of those connections came following the meeting's Plenary Presentation, given by Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, APRNCNP, FAANP, FNAP, FAAN. Dr. Melnyk is a pediatric and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, whose extensive work at The Ohio State University helped mold her into an internationally renowned and recognized expert in evidence-based practice and intervention research for mental health of all ages.
