As we put the final touches on the 2019 publishing year of the Journal of the Association for Vascular Access (JAVA), it's important to take a second to reflect and extend our gratitude to those individuals who have contributed to our success during this, our first year back under the self-publishing model.

First, thank you to the fabulous clinicians, researchers, and scientists who can also now call themselves authors. Some of you published for the first time in your career during 2019, while others added another byline to their portfolio. Regardless of which category you fall into, your commitment to submitting case studies, original articles, review articles, letters, and other research demonstrates your understanding of how important disseminating the evidence to further vascular access education is to the specialty.
