Wenhe River, Yinan County, China. Wenhe River, also known as Dong wenhe River, is the main tributary of Yihe River. With a total length of about 110 kilometers and an area of about 2,428.46 square kilometers, it originates from the bank of the Mengy in County, flows through Yinan County and drains to Yihe River. Its trunk stream, about 80 kilometers, flows within Yinan County. From 1958 onwards, two medium reservoirs Huangtu Mountain and Zhang zhuang and forty-four small reservoirs were built in upstream area. In 1960, bank reservoirs and the hydropower station with 5,350 kw of installed capacity were built at the confluence of midstream and Zi River. Inaddition, plenty of barrages, hydroelectric dams and irrigation stations are installed for flood discharge drought control and irrigation along the river.
