These Teaching Notes accompany the “Auto Accessories, Inc.: An Educational Case on Online, Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Controls as Compared to Batch Processing and Controls” case. The purpose of the Teaching Notes is to prepare the faculty member to present the case in a classroom or online environment. Also, the Teaching Notes contain suggested solutions for the nine exercises given at the end of the case, along with examples of the results that students should copy and paste into the Word document they submit to the faculty member. Included is an overview of the case and its development methodology along with a discussion of authoritative frameworks, government audit manuals, and standards that reference batch processing and controls. Additional notes are also included to aid faculty members who use the case, as well as an itemization and discussion of the student deliverables.
