Volume 83 of the Journal of Food Protection, published in 2020, contained 2,232 pages and 255 articles, which included 240 research papers and notes, and 15 mini-review, review, and general interest papers (Table 1). By comparison, Volume 82 published in 2019 contained 2,215 pages and 252 articles, which included 232 research papers and notes, and 20 mini-review, review and general interest papers. Thus, Volume 83 contained three more articles than Volume 82.

The average length of time between receipt of manuscripts and their online publication decreased in 2020 compared with 2019 due to a new policy of publishing “Online Early” manuscripts immediately after acceptance.
