Dr. Atkinson is the Consultant in Poultry Inspection and Sanitation of the Milk and Food Program, Division of Sanitary Engineering Services, Public Health Service, U. S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Washington, D.C. Dr. Atkinson conducted field studies of the poultry industry while assigned to the Kansas City Regional Office of the Public Health Service, prior to transfer to his present position. He has had a primary role in the preparation of the model poultry ordinance developed by the Public Health Service in cooperation with interested State and Federal agencies and the poultry industry. Dr. Atkinson is a graduate of Kansas State College. His entrance into the Public Health Service was preceded by experience as a Veterinary Poultry Inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
