Dr. Paul Raiti was born in 1952 and raised in the Bronx, New York. From early childhood he was fascinated with reptiles and would often rescue and care for some before setting them free. As an active child, Paul enjoyed many sports, but his passion for swimming carried on through his college and veterinary school years, competing throughout all. He graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in biology and ventured to The Philippines, eventually attending veterinary school at the University of the Philippines. He had many unique life experiences there, ranging from living with tribes in the mountain provinces to exploring the islands by motorcycle. After obtaining his doctorate of veterinary medicine he moved back to New York and years later opened his own practice, Beverlie Animal Hospital, in Mount Vernon.
