Corn snakes, Elaphe guttata, are among the most popular colubrid snakes found in captive collections. As with all reptiles and amphibians, corn snakes have specific environmental and dietary needs that must be met in order for them to thrive in the captive environment. This paper outlines requirements for the successful care and breeding of this species. Common medical problems are also discussed, and a client education handout is provided.
