Dr Robert J. “Bob” Buhite Sr, a friend of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, and many of us, passed peacefully on June 9, 2023. Dr Buhite Sr was a Diplomate and Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr “Bob” was a mentor not only in implant dentistry but in life as well. He demonstrated to those who got to know him how we should provide dental implant care for patients in the private practice setting and how to give back through his implant academic contributions at the Department of Implant Dentistry and Special Care at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (1985–1993) and the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB; 1993–2023).
