I would like to personally thank all of the AAID/AAIP members and Diplomates of ABOI/ID who have taken the time to update their personal profiles as potential Reviewers for Journal of Oral Implantology with PeerTrack®. These individuals have made a valuable contribution to JOI. If you have not already been selected to review a manuscript, do not be concerned, it is not a matter of “if” you will be chosen but rather just a matter of “when.”
I encourage all AAID/AAIP and ABOI/ID members that have not updated their PeerTrack® personal profiles and are interested in contributing to the peer review process of JOI to go on line at http://www.editorialmanager.com/aaid-joi/. All members received an e-mail invitation to go online and register as a reviewer. The e-mail provided each member with a password. Below are some suggestions that may be helpful if you are having trouble logging into the PeerTrack® system.
Are you unable to locate your username and/or password?
If you do not know your username and/or password, the system can send you an e-mail that contains your username and password.
From the login page, click the “Send Username/Password” link.
Enter your first name, last name, and e-mail address, and click the “Send Username and Password” button.
If there is an e-mail match in the system, an e-mail containing your username and password will be sent to you immediately.
Would you like to change your password?
The PeerTrack® system automatically assigned a password to your account when the AAID/AAIP registered you in the system. However, you may change your password at any time.
Login to the system using your assigned username and password.
Click the link “Update My Information” on the main navigation menu at the top of the page. This will bring you to the user registration form.
In the field next to “Password” is your current password. You can overwrite this with a new password.
Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. The next time you login to the system, enter your new password.
Personal information, areas of interest or expertise, and institutional related information can be entered. Entering this valuable information will assure that manuscripts of interest to you and in your area(s) of expertise are assigned to you.
The process of peer review is important for the success of authors and this journal. It assures the rigor and fosters the progression of implant dentistry through this publication. Truth in science is, in part, dependent upon a careful evaluation of a manuscript by an unbiased and knowledgeable peer. The JOI staff is dedicated to finding the truth and needs the help of those implant dentists involved in academia and clinical practice. No one individual has all of the correct answers, and in reality we are only on the journey of finding the truth. We have not arrived yet, but with the help of our members we can use the peer review process as our GPS and hopefully avoid unnecessary detours.
