The Journal of Herpetology has published high-quality articles on all aspects of amphibian and reptile biology since 1968. Since its founding, Journal of Herpetology has been a venue for the naming and promulgation of hundreds of new taxonomic names from all over the world, widely representing classes Amphibia and Reptilia (exclusive of Aves). Journal of Herpetology has been the publication outlet of choice of hundreds of authors for taxonomic articles. In 2009 Journal of Herpetology received an award from the Special Libraries Association as one of the “100 most influential journals in biology and medicine worldwide over the last 100 years.”
