The first thought that crossed my mind after I received the great news about the award is that this will be a great opportunity to thank all the colleagues who helped me or who I worked with during my career. Then almost immediately I realized with horror that this will not be possible because I have more than 230 co-authors on publications and many more colleagues and students who I worked with in the field and in the lab. Therefore, I apologize to all colleagues who I did not mention in my talk. I remember all of you and am thankful to all of you. I would like to say that I was deeply honored even before I was notified by the award committee because of the colleagues who were involved in the nomination, including living legends of parasitology...
