Critical Revision of the Heligmonellidae (Nematoda: Trichostrongylina: Heligmosomoidea) is a monographic revision of a highly diverse group of nematodes found primarily in rodents, but also in other terrestrial vertebrates. It is published as a volume of the Memoires du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, a series that, over the decades, has not infrequently included important compendia of animal parasites. In this volume, exhaustive study and revision of the Heligmonellidae have been made, complete with keys and illustrations of every known species (1,250 species in 14 families). Two of the authors, Marie Claude Durette-Desset and Maria Celina Digiani, have published extensively on trichostrongyloid systematics, a discipline in which Durette-Desset is regarded as the world's authority on the group.
