Gerald Wisler Esch, a longtime member and a former President of the ASP, passed away on 18 December 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. “Jerry,” as he was known to most of us, was born in Wichita, Kansas, on 22 June 1936 to Ruby Wisler and Frank D. Esch. He was the second of three sons produced by this marriage, and, like his brothers, Jerry attended elementary and high school in Wichita. Jerry was active in sports during his high school years and as a member of the Wichita High East Blue Aces baseball team developed his athletic skills as a pitcher, lettering twice during his high school years. He continued his pursuit of baseball at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and was also a guard on the school's basketball team.
