It is my pleasure to introduce the American Society of Parasitologists’ 2024 Ashton Cuckler New Investigator Award recipient, Dr. Kaylee Herzog. The award is given to those who have a highly accomplished research record during and immediately after their graduate studies. Dr. Herzog is an evolutionary parasitologist from Albany, New York. She began research in parasitology as an undergraduate student at State University of New York (SUNY) Oneonta under the mentorship of Dr. Florian Reyda. After graduating with a B.S. degree in biology in 2014, Kaylee pursued graduate studies with Dr. Kirsten Jensen at the University of Kansas. There, she completed a master’s degree (2016) and a Ph.D. degree (2022) in evolutionary biology.
