I'd like to begin by thanking the membership for the privilege of serving and representing them as President of the American Society of Parasitologists. I also want to thank our past Presidents Larry Roberts and John Oaks for the guidance they have given me during this time. I have come to depend on our Secretary/Treasurer George Cain and his assistant Tim Walker who have been especially helpful. Paraphrasing the remarks of Past President Larry Roberts, it is really the Secretary who shoulders the workload for our Society and deserves a great deal of the credit for making it work. We are an organization run by volunteers. So, those who have volunteered to serve on the committees, to edit and review articles for our journal, and to serve as officers, to organize our meeting, and to participate in it—I thank you.
