According to the series editors, “Volumes in the World Class Parasites are written for researchers, students and scholars who enjoy reading about excellent research on problems of global significance.” Selection of the so-called ‘geohelminths' as a focus for this book was an excellent choice, as was the choice of editors for the book. Celia Holland and Malcolm Kennedy have had a strong history of research on various aspects of these parasites, and they have brought together a rather eclectic group of scholars to deal with the geohelminths of humans.
