My good friend, Clive Kennedy, is officially retired, but not enough to prevent him from being motivated (by his wife, Pat) into writing another book, this one dealing with the ecology of one of his favorite groups of animals, the Acanthocephala. Oddly, I was present on a warm afternoon in May 2004 in a pub near the Natural History Museum in London when Clive discussed the prospects of undertaking such a task with Ward Cooper, then a Commissioning Editor at Cambridge University Press.
