President Bruce Conn called the meeting to order at 0810 hr and delivered his opening comments, noting that the meeting was off to a good start, being well-attended, and that as a result, our financial obligations to the venue would be easily met. He then called for a motion to accept the minutes of the last Council meeting.
Council members and attending committee chairs introduced themselves. President Conn then recognized the new officers for 2009–2010: President, George Cain; President-Elect, Janine Caira; Vice-President, Armand M. Kuris; Secretary–Treasurer, Dennis Minchella (2010–2013); Council Members-at-Large, Scott Snyder and Mark Siddall (2009–2013); Nominating Committee, Matthew Bolek (Chair), Claire Healy, Ash Bullard, Charles Criscione, Julian Hillyer, Isaure de Buron (alternate); and Student Representative, Maria Pickering (2009–2010).
