This ongoing research examines whether or not an intra-organizational merger (unification) will have a meaningful impact on turnovers statistics for that organization. The investigator hypothesizes that turnover for both legacy organizations will remain the same overall; however, within subgroups there may be a meaningful increase and/or decrease in turnover. The organization under this case study is a teaching medical center serving both inpatient and outpatient populations. Prior to the unification, the healthcare IT departments for the medical school and health systems had completely separate reporting structures and budgets. After the merger, both legacy organizations will serve under one CIO with combined budgets and HR structures. Secondary data from the host organization will be analyzed for trends both before and after the unification.
