About Operative Dentistry
Journal Information
Operative Dentistry is a refereed, international journal published bi-monthly and distributed to subscribers in over 50 countries. Papers are submitted by authors from around the globe, in the categories of Clinical Research, Laboratory Research, Clinical Techniques/Case Presentations and Invited Papers, as well as Editorials and Abstracts.
One of the strong points of our journal is that our current publication time for accepted manuscripts is 4 to 6 months from the date of submission. Clinical Techniques/Case Presentations have a very quick turnaround time, which allows for very rapid publication of clinical based concepts. We have no publication fees to include providing complementary color publishing for those papers that would benefit from its use. We do charge a nominal fee to all submitted papers to defray the cost of an electronic submission and review system.
The journal does not accept any advertising but you will find postings for faculty positions. Additionally, the journal also does not rent, sell or otherwise allow its subscriber list to be used by any other entity.

The Academy of Richard V. Tucker Study Clubs
This is an organization designed to foster excellence in restorative dentistry through a relatively uncompromising format in postgraduate education. It is a unique approach to dental learning which features discipline and perfection in operating procedures that is inspired and shared by fellow study club members. Aesthetic considerations as well as traditional value of gold restorations has been redefined by the advent of a variety of more conservative cavity preparation designs and improved indirect techniques. It is the Mission of the academy to promote and aid in the work of the study clubs which seek to learn the techniques which have been redefined to provide aesthetic and permanent dental restorations with a minimum of tooth destruction.

American Academy of Gold Foil Operators
The American Academy of Gold Foil Operators (AAGFO) is an international dental organization dedicated to clinical excellence in dentistry through the development of technical skills via the study and manipulation of direct gold in the restoration of natural teeth. AAGFO members are encouraged to support clinical study clubs that advocate the demanding clinical attributes required by the use of direct gold to elevate visual acuity, clinical performance and attention to detail.
Annual clinical meetings are held at dental schools allowing students to witness the spectrum of operative talents used to provide restorations with proven longevity in the care of patients.
