With deep sorrow I share with you the very sad news of the passing of Dr. Teresa Nesteruk, professor at the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Poland, on April 23 2019 at the age of 65. Teresa was the longest-working member of the Gastrotricha-studying team in Siedlce, established in 1974. She was very friendly, laborious, accurate in research, much dedicated equally to gastrotrichs, didactics and her family, loved both by colleagues and students and appreciated by the University authorities.
She began her study on gastrotrichs in 1984, starting from taxonomy and faunistics, as other team's members. During this period, she provided the descriptions of two new Chaetonotus species (C. parafurcatus and C. alni) as well as a study on Gastrotricha of fish ponds in the vicinity of Siedlce.
