Abstract
The interaction of 2,4-DB and paraquat on weed control and crop safety in peanuts was examined in greenhouse, field, and laboratory experiments. Tank mixtures of paraquat and 2,4-DB were no more injurious to peanuts than paraquat applied alone in greenhouse and field experiments. These tank mixtures were neither interactive nor synergistic with respect to weed control. Under field conditions, tank mixtures provided more comprehensive weed control and improved yield relative to either herbicide applied alone. Studies with 14C-labeled herbicides revealed that the absorption and translocation of paraquat and 2,4-DB was not influenced by the presence of other herbicide.
