Commentary

The first nine articles in this issue are a collection of manuscripts resulting from presentations at the International Conference on Groundnut Aflatoxin Management and Genomics held in Guangzhou, Guanddong, China in November 2006. These articles represent the state of the art in genomics research from around the world and its potential application through traditional plant breeding to reduce pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination in peanut. Other manuscripts from this conference describe methods to detect and quantify aflatoxin contamination, and competitive exclusion to reduce pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination. The remaining articles in this issue are equally significant and address post harvest research in Ghana and production research in the U.S. Thank you for your continued support of Peanut Science by submitting articles for publication and your participation in the candid and critical review of the submitted manuscripts.
