Commentary: The Ethics of Taking a Job in the First Place Available to Purchase

My purpose here is to consider some ethical factors that might influence a person's decision whether to accept a job opportunity as an applied anthropologist. Obviously, these are my own personal views; a similar essay written by another professional could well come to some significantly different conclusions. Discussion of such issues of professional ethics is an important step in clarifying one's own values and in establishing shared values within a discipline.
