Linda Rabben (Lrabben@verizon.net) is an author, anthropologist, and human rights activist. Her 10th book, My Brazil: Reports from the Interior, is a collection of her published and unpublished writings about Brazil, where she did field research over a 27-year period. She worked for Amnesty International, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, the Rainforest Foundation, and other NGOs on human rights, migration, environmental, and international development issues. She received a Ph.D. in sociocultural anthropology and Latin American studies from Cornell University. Since 2015, she has been an associate research professor of Anthropology at the University of Maryland. She has written poems for more than 50 years.
