Dr. John Biaglow, Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University School of Medicine, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2007.

John Biaglow was a world leader in the field of radiation biochemistry. He received his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from John Carroll University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from Loyola University. He taught and performed groundbreaking research at Case Western Reserve University from 1963 through 1984, at which time he moved his research enterprise to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine's Department of Radiation Oncology. At Penn, he was promoted to Professor of Radiation Oncology, Director of the Research Division in the Department of Radiation Oncology, and Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics.
