The Radiation Research Society lost its last living charter member when Professor Howard S. Ducoff of Champaign, IL passed away in St. Charles, IL on August 28, 2012. Dr. Ducoff was born May 5, 1923 in New York, NY to Dave and Tillie Machinist Ducoff. He received his undergraduate education at the City College of New York, NY, and graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 1942. He served our country for three years in the U.S. Army from 1943–1946 where he worked as a technician in a Medical Department. He then moved to Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago as an Assistant Biologist from 1946–1951 during which time he enrolled in the University of Chicago where he finished his Ph.D. in Physiology in 1953, and was promoted to Associate Biologist at Argonne National Laboratory and attended the 1st scientific meeting of the Radiation Research Society in Iowa City, IA...
